SETTING THE SAFETY STANDARD FOR THE UTILITY AND PIPELINE INDUSTRY

Safety. It Matters.

We believe that safety should be a standard in our industry, but unfortunately, it is not. Therefore, we have taken it upon ourselves to become the safety standard. There are way too many in our industry that just check boxes because they are forced to – they don’t actually have policies in the field, and they don’t live what they preach. That’s unacceptable to us.

Safety is not just a tiny aspect of our job. It is a top priority. Due to the potential risks and hazards in our field of work, we prioritize safety above all else. Our main goal is to ensure that our crew returns home safely every night and that our customers receive a project that is free of any incidents. To achieve this, we have made safety the forefront of everything we do.

Our Safety Program:

Innovate 4 Safety

To achieve continuous improvement, we regularly evaluate our processes, update our equipment, and provide training to our team. Our Innovate 4 Safety Program emphasizes teamwork and aims to increase safety and efficiency by eliminating any potential dangers for our crew, removing them from the line of fire. This requires a thorough examination of our procedures and equipment, developing a comprehensive plan, and supplying our team with the necessary tools to perform their job safely. This program uses constant evaluation and looks at new, innovative equipment to remove our workers from the direct line of fire.

Promoting On-The-Job Safety

At our company, safety is a top priority. We encourage our employees to report any near misses or incidents; we have very thorough and relevant on-the-job safety procedures and forms, utilize BBS, and provide ongoing training to give our employees the ability to execute their work safely. To ensure that our team stays informed and up to date on safety training and certifications, we offer various training opportunities, including membership with The Better Contractor.

Enhancing performance and assessments

We use data from incident reports to identify and address potential safety hazards in the future. We study industry statistics. From there, we mitigate those risks. Furthermore, we don’t just have one safety supervisor in an office; we have several people conducting safety and quality audits in the field on our crews. We don’t just check boxes; we live safely from the office to the field, and we audit that what we are doing is working and it’s fully mitigating hazards.

Utilizing Innovative Equipment

Another way we continuously improve our safety methods is by incorporating innovative equipment, seeking feedback from our team, and attending trade shows to explore top-of-the-line equipment options. By making use of advanced remote-controlled equipment, we can ensure the safety of our team by keeping them away from dangerous situations while also increasing our efficiency. Another way we enhance our safety is the use of grapple saws when possible to reduce the risk of line of fire incidents from chainsaws.

Ongoing Training with The Better Contractor

Our team recognizes the significance of properly onboarding and training new members with relevant and up-to-date knowledge. We take safety and equipment training seriously – it’s not just a checkbox on our list. It’s an essential part of our work, culture, and management team. That’s why we have partnered with The Better Contractor, an online onboarding and training group that provides comprehensive training in forestry, lawn care, and landscaping.

ROW Assessments Services

As safety is our top priority, we provide our customers with the choice to hire our team for right of way assessments, project planning, and scope creation. Our team evaluates projects site by site to develop a comprehensive safety plan for the work to be done. We use GIS services and vegetation management to plan your job with expertise. The safest jobs are planned in advance.
