At Lanracorp, we take the Right of Way – ROW assessment seriously. We are constantly striving towards the safest work environment possible and making sure your ROWs are maintained is a big part of that. Fallen trees, shallow pipe, landowner encroachments, and even overgrown vegetation can create a hazardous work area and could lead to even bigger issues if left unattended.
What is a ROW Assessment?
A ROW Assessment is an inspection of the easement for issues, this can be ROW Clearing, shallow pipe, to encroachments. We do this for primarily ROW Clearing. The ROW can grow shut, blocking the ground to sky view. You need a straight-forward, detailed report that you can analyze from the comfort of your office. Well, that is exactly what Lanracorp offers. We provide you a strategic ROW Clearing Plan based upon your needs on each mile of your ROW. ROW Clearing shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. That’s where the ROW Assessments come into play as it’s targeted.
What We Look For
We start every assessment by identifying issues that could be an integrity concern for your pipeline. Things like exposed pipe, encroachments, vegetation, or even missing line markers are noted and documented with photos. All the data we collect from the field is entered into GIS. Our reports aim to not only inform, but make it feel as you walked the line yourself.
Why do we insist on routine assessments? Simple. We are on the lookout for issues before they develop. Potential tree roots and overgrown vegetation can seem minor, but if left unattended they could cause damage to underground pipelines and put people’s safety at risk. Even a heavy, overgrown tree canopy can obscure bird-eye views for pilots doing their regular fly-bys. We also make sure that pipelines and underground wires are clearly marked to prevent the unknowing public from accidentally damaging them.
Regular ROW Assessments are an important preventative step in maintaining areas for our clients. It is our goal that we mitigate the risks as much as possible and getting ahead of potential issues is the best way to ensure continued safety of you, workers, and the public.
Next Steps
So, you may ask yourself what happens next after you receive the report from your ROW Assessment. Well, that can vary. In some cases, we won’t need to follow up on anything immediately but will report if any situations need to be watched. However, it is possible for us to come across something we consider an “immediate concern.” In those situations, we will generate an On Demand Quote to resolve the issue and ensure that your workers or contractors can get back to their jobs quickly and safely.
Our Commitment to Our Core Values
Ongoing ROW Assessments are an important aspect in keeping ROWs clear and maintained. Nipping a problem in the bud cannot only save money but prevent your workers and the public from injury.
Not only do we prioritize safety at Lanracorp – we take pride in it. Our plan and approach are the reasons we were able to work through 13 years with zero incidents. When we accept a job, we believe it is imperative to keep the area and people as safe as possible. If anything does happen, you can rest assured that we accept full responsibility for it and will do what we must to make things right. At the end of the day, do you want anything less than that?
